I’m still recovering from it. We almost have everything cleaned up and put away. The Van’s been returned, all the booze has been put away (what’s left that is), the tents are down and the videos and pictures are up. When I started out on this endeavor about a year ago, I never imagined the degree of success we’d have. I figured a few peeps would show up, a few peeps would back out at the last minute, and a few locals would get wasted. Never did I imagined that we’d have 50 people over at my house for the party of all parties or that we’d have as many people come to be a part of such a great event. We have certainly out-done ourselves this time. ToP-CON 2008 was spectacular and amazing to say the least, and righty so being our 10 year anny celebration. I can’t believe it’s been 10 years already and that something like our community can persist and maintain this length of time. With all that being said, I would like to thank everyone that came from the bottom of my heart. You all made this event a truly memorable time and one that I won’t likely forget anytime soon. I’ve made friends that will last a lifetime and I’ve had the time of my life. I can’t thank everyone enough for their participation and cooperation. I’d like to personally thank everyone that helped make this event happen. I couldn’t have done it all myself and you all deserve the credit for making TC’08 the huge success it was. Dan, Thanks for helping out with everything you did. From providing a place to meet and greet on Thursday to offering your home on Sun for dinner and a movie, to the many other things you did to help me out. You did a lot to lend to the success of this event and I continue to be amazed at your sincerity. Gman, Thanks for lunch on Fri and for everything else you did. Thanks for bringing all you brought to the party and for doing whatever it took to keep our guests active and happy. You continue to show your dedication to our group and it really shows at times like this. Rant, Thanks for helping me have a good time, for being a reliable leader, and for considering everyone else before you. I also would like to thank you for your contributions to this event, both monetarily as well as personally. There were lots of compliments about you and you made my job easier by being there in my stead to lead the group. Banker, Sweetdeath, and Cspar, Thanks for handling every detail of the awards ceremony. It was a hilarious and spectacular time. Your hard word was evident and greatly appreciated. What a wonderful show a fantastic time. Everyone else, Thanks for coming. Thanks for your participation, and thanks for helping make this the event of the decade for T4L. All the hard work wouldn’t have mattered if no one showed up. I guess now we need to start planning the next ToP-STOP sometime next summer and the next ToP-CON for summer 2010. Posted on May 25 2008,2:56 by falcon Hi, It has occured to me that, although many of you may know about it, you may not have been formally invited. Therefor, consider this your official notice/invitation. On Saturday, August 16th 2008 T4L will be holding it's 4th annual Temple of Pain Conference (ToP-CON for short). The main even will be at the Tucker Estates starting aroun 6PM. This event will be nothing more than a simple gathering... a party if you will. We'll be providing entertainment, food, drink, prizes and awards. I know many of our members are flying / driving in on Thursday and Friday of that week along with the many T4L'ers that live here in town. In the past this event has been a lot of fun a great way to meet new people that you've been hanging out with online. There are also additional events this particular weekend, such as paintball, dinners on the Plaza, golf, and more. If you are interested in any of these other events, please let me know and I'll give you more details. So, everyone we know is invited and welcome to attend. If you'd like to bring something, bring a bottle of your favorite liquor. Beer will be provided by either Boulevard or 75th street brewery. We've heard from a majority of the group and are prepared to announce the committee for 2007. After receiving, sorting, calculating and counting; the members of the Temple of Pain have voice their opinions and would like the following to represent the group and help lead us into the future. WarCry Rant Shotty Sweet Death Ghost Sweeper MtnGrd HvyD This group of members will not only serve and represent our group in a more intimate way by providing leadership, they will also help in managing and performing many of the administrative tasks that running an organization like ours creates. Please welcome these guys aboard and don't give them too much grief right off the bat. Give them a bit of time to get settled and organized before throwing them to the wolves :-) Their first task will be to get together and elect one among them to represent them as a committee chairman. After that, they'll divvy up the duties and off we go! Furthermore... As we grow and become a larger organization, it is critical that our internal structures do as well.
